Growing for the better. Living sustainably and naturally.
Our Story
I always had a garden growing up but it wasn’t until 2016 when I found a passion for it. It was that year that my great aunt gave my dad some tomato seedlings that had been grown from seed that had been passed down for generations through the family. Story goes that these are the same tomatoes that my early family brought with them when they immigrated from Germany in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
After growing these tomatoes for the first time, I was captivated by the history and diversity in all tomatoes. This newfound excitement led me to research all kinds of heirloom plants and seeds. I discovered that there were more varieties out there than I could count.
When I moved off on my own, I started a small patio garden and grew enough fresh vegies to enjoy during the summer. After a tornado tore through Bowling Green, Kentucky in December 2021, destroying our neighborhood, I was blessed with an opportunity to purchase a house with some land. It was in 2022 that I finally had a large enough garden to begin growing all kinds of plants and saving their seeds for future generations.
I have started work on crossbreeding and stabilizing my own varieties now and always look forward to early spring to begin the annual garden journey.
2024 is the first year I will be selling seeds and I hope you find as much enjoyment in it as I do. I still grow those same tomatoes that my aunt gave to my dad. I might be biased, but they are always my favorite! You can find them and many others for purchase here.
Thank you for taking the time to support this dream. I hope to continue adding to the collection and always grow for the better.
