Annual in most places. One of my favorite flowers, ever! Compact plants reach 12-16 inches tall and about 10-12” round. By mid summer, plants are loaded with long lasting blooms in shades of red, orange, burgundy, rust, and yellow. Blooms are a mix of wonderful fall colors. Makes an excellent cut flower. Sow seeds very shallow. Light helps with germination. Can be started indoors 6 weeks before last frost, but care must be taken when transplanting. The roots are easily disturbed. Seeds can be started outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Plants love full sun but do just fine in partial shade. They appreciate afternoon shade during the hottest part of the day.
