Cherokee Trail of Tears
Pole. 95 days. Dry/shelling bean. A gorgeous black bean! These seeds date back to the Cherokee people who grew these beans and brought the seeds with them when forced to walk the infamous Trail of Tears. Most beans have a pink/purple pod that dries to violet and brown. A true production powerhouse! This was one of the highest yielding beans in my garden. Plants grow vigorously up a trellis and reach 10+ feet. This variety is also very resilient against high heat and humidity. Perfect for growing from Texas to Appalachia. Pick often to ensure productivity. Plant outside after all danger of frost has passed. Soaking beans/peas in warm water for 12-24 hours before planting helps them germinate much more reliably. 25-30 seeds per pack
